David Mack

Ph.D. Student – Biomedical Engineering

David Mack is a Biomedical Engineering graduate student who joined the MARC in January 2002. David holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio Northern University (2001) and is working toward a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia. Graduating at the top of his engineering class, David maintained a 4.0 GPA en route to his undergraduate degree. He also spent a year and a half as an engineering co-op intern for Copeland Corporation, a world-class commercial compressor manufacturer. His work at the MARC is in eldercare and home health technology. Specifically, he is focused on developing a passive sleep monitoring system to monitor physiological signals called the NAPS system. When he is away from his research, David enjoys disc golf, woodworking, hiking and the outdoors as well as listening to contemporary Christian music.
